Hurrah!

A while ago, I took part in an international art collaboration project orginally instigated by kylecassidy in which two people were randomly chosen to come up with something together.
My match was roguish_ink. As we were separated by various oceans and miles of countryside, we split it into two parts. I took a series of photos of random objects, shapes and textures around the house and sent them over. She then printed some of those photos, arranged them in a collage, traced the shapes she was interested in and used those as base of a painting

As if that wasn't cool enough, when City Kitties in Philly announced their annual art auction, roguish_ink asked me if I was OK with her donating the piece for the cause and of course I was.
The auction took place this weekend and the piece sold! :D

For those who FFW

Thanks to the website's misorganisation I only just spotted the Fantasma symposium on Friday morning. That sounds rather interesting and has a screening of Secret Rites (which I'll forgo for the short films) at the end.

This means I'll have a spare ticket for eXistenZ, if anyone wants one.

Then I'll also know what to do with myself. Bradford isn't that exciting and I've been through the museum a few times already.
ETA: And now I've spotted the Games Lounge. I don't think I'll be leaving the NMM at all...

Oooh, astronomy in the making?

There might be indications that Betelgeuse, the ninth biggest and ninth brightest star in the known/observable 'verse is on its way to go supernova, possibly within the next few months or even weeks (obv. this is the observation of the supernova that will have happened over 500 years ago as the light takes that long to get here - there is no precise measurement for how far away the star actually is).
