Tech help?

I'm really frustrated with the highly polished screen of my netbook (or that of my laptop). I get myriads of reflections from the windows, the lights above and my own mug which make the screen almost unreadable. What is the point? Destops screens aren't shiny and laptops are more likely used in areas without controlled/diffused lighting.

Are there any products available that would take off the shine while not affecting the clarity and brightness of the screen much? Like a film to stick on or simlar? Cheers!
