Yesterday my Nikon 85mm f1.4D arrived and boy, it's gorgeous! The only drawback is the lens hood that screws into the filter thread which means you can't put the lenscap on while the lens hood is attached.
We were at
razornet's playing Call of Cthulhu so what better chance to test it than on black cats in a dimly lit front room. These were taken with the D70 at ISO800 so they still are quite noisy but I'm reasonably happy with them:

The game session was hilarious due to our PCs' incompetence and the silliest combat ever. Five grown men vs. an old man and he almost got away...
Then on my way home, I remembered that I had wanted to take a photo of the Budgens sign for quite a while so I did:
