Road Twat of the Year

This award should go to the driver of the black Merc I encountered yesterday on my way into town.
Traffic on Elizabeth Bridge was standing pretty still (there had already been bad gridlock around the Elizabeth Way roundabout) as an ambulance came up from behind. Like everybody else, I moved over to the side to let the ambulance pass as, accompanied by many different beeping horns, that black merc raced past in the wake of the ambulance and squeezed into the left hand lane just before the traffic lights. I hadn't spotted where he joined the ambulance because he was right behind it but it must have been quite a way.
I was actually surprised that he wasn't beaten up on the spot when he stopped...

And again, metro_weird actually writes what everybody's thinkin

Is it just me or does anyone else hear the theme from War of the Worlds in the background? ;o)

This cracked me up

I looked up butterscotch on wikipedia and had to giggle about this sentence:
"In many ways the ingredients for butterscotch are similar to toffee; the major difference is that the sugar is boiled to the soft crack stage for butterscotch and the hard crack stage for toffee."

It's also interesting, because I don't think there's a difference between toffee and butterscotch in German, I would call both "Karamell". Confectionery terminology isn't my strong point, though.
