This award should go to the driver of the black Merc I encountered yesterday on my way into town.
Traffic on Elizabeth Bridge was standing pretty still (there had already been bad gridlock around the Elizabeth Way roundabout) as an ambulance came up from behind. Like everybody else, I moved over to the side to let the ambulance pass as, accompanied by many different beeping horns, that black merc raced past in the wake of the ambulance and squeezed into the left hand lane just before the traffic lights. I hadn't spotted where he joined the ambulance because he was right behind it but it must have been quite a way.
I was actually surprised that he wasn't beaten up on the spot when he stopped...

something very similar nearly happened to us on Arbury Rd, Rob pulled in to let a police car I think passed and we were nearly overtaken by a merc class a rather than let out, thankfully they saw the error of their ways

traffic was a nightmare yesterday though due to the lorry fire on the a14!

Ah, that's what happened (*reads in CEN*). Shit.
I had wondered where the gridlock had come from but it's usually an accident on the A14.

What a twat - I hope the next person who needs an ambulance is him. Driving like that, it should be.

That's what passengers with video-recording digicams are for. If someone had got video and registration number I expect the police would have been very interested…

A couple of months ago, a police car was coming down the Charlton road and heading in a vaguely O2-like direction, when a small car with 4 yooths in it decided to follow. Just ahead of us, the police car came to a halt, ordered them to the side of the road, and then proceded on with in a blue light fashion.

I hope it didn't delay their emergency response too much, but it did feel good!
