- James Brown and Joss Stone on Jonathan Ross last night were absolutely awesome. What better endorsement could a brilliant young artist wish for than to be asked by the Godfather of her musical style to join him on stage? She beats him easily in terms of voice and singing skill but she needs to work on her stage presence of which James Brown has more in his little finger than Stone in her whole body. However, she's young and will get there soon. It's nice and cute to see her still being apprehensive about the whole success thing and looking completely overwhelmed when she was actually performing with James Brown.

- Luther Vandross has died, only 53 (after two strokes).
While his crooning wasn't exactly my style, he certainly had something and retained what a lot of modern R&B and Soul artists are missing.

- Another great UA game this afternoon which was more a character building episode than plot filled, especially for Roland ([livejournal.com profile] lslaw) and Coat (my character).
Coat has always felt a bit out of his league among the other MakAttax members (as the only one not being an Adept or Avatar) but slowly seemed to come to terms with the whole Weird Shit™ going on, only to be thrown into the deep end again (literally) as he slowly learns more and more about his past (or rather, the lack of it).
Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] jholloway for running a superb game and to [livejournal.com profile] akonken, [livejournal.com profile] lslaw and Jon WINOLJ for being great players.

- On we went to [livejournal.com profile] robinbloke's BBQ, where he and [livejournal.com profile] razornet were busy building the new fancy looking BBQ which we eventually managed. Liberal application of lighter gel made the briquets going in reasonable time, too and soon meaty and vegetably things were getting the treatment they deserved.
Among others, [livejournal.com profile] musingsofallama and [livejournal.com profile] adove were there who I hadn't seen in ages. My pork steaks and the Dippadoom™ were a great success so worth the effort. The bottle of Pimm's I brought was going rather quckly, too. Food, snacks, chats: good and relaxed party.
A phew photos.

- Van Morrison gig tomorrow. Gates open at 5 and as I have a reserved seat, I don't have to be there ridiculously early so can have a good night's sleep in a bit. As long as it doesn't rain, I'll be happy.

Good night!
