For once, the decks were working, just the mixer seems to get worse.
Not a lot of people dancing, sadly. Just proves that most people will only dance to stuff they know but at least [livejournal.com profile] greebotrill, [livejournal.com profile] necro_angel and [livejournal.com profile] hampsterboy came out regularly.
It was good fun but I so need more practice. Still, I didn't fuck up and both the Trauma Pet demo and the Killing Miranda Promo played.

After that, Loki played the same old shit as always...

Extracted myself from work and headed towards town when [livejournal.com profile] riksowden called that the little party were on their way to the Cambridge Blue so I parked in Sturton Street and wandered there.
Met, hugged and greeted [livejournal.com profile] greebotrill and [livejournal.com profile] eddyfate and went inside to have a nice lunch, interrupted by [livejournal.com profile] hardwired calling [livejournal.com profile] riksowden's mobile causing a little fine/donation (The Cambridge Blue have a no mobile policy). Chatted about this and that and waited for [livejournal.com profile] hardwired to arrive.

Next stop was the youth hostel so the Webbs and Rik could check into their rooms and then we took the bus into town, meeting up with [livejournal.com profile] andrewdavies at the Round Church. Next stop was the mighty Castle Hill, back into town for a walk around the colleges and a visit to the Fudge Kitchen, around Market Square, the bookshop alley, randomly ran into [livejournal.com profile] deliberateblank and received a phonecall from [livejournal.com profile] susanofstohelit.

Everybody was thirsty so we had a drink at Clowns in King St and then moved on to the Hopbine for Thai dinner. There we were joined by [livejournal.com profile] susanofstohelit who I think I wouldn't have recognized in the street (short bob, different glasses) and [livejournal.com profile] mcghiever.

Then [livejournal.com profile] hardwired receives a text message and states rather calmly "The popcorn room is on fire" (paraphrased) as if it were the most normal thing and to be expected on a Tuesday afternoon. That got a few giggles. ;o)

The Druids was next but unfortunately only [livejournal.com profile] autumn_storm and [livejournal.com profile] twentypence of the usual crowd showed up.

I set off early so I got to the Kambar in time and still had to wait for them to turn up and unlock. Got ready for 9, though and started my set with something obscure, moving on to neofolk, dark ambient, medieval crossover, EBM, industrial metal and finally some nice hard EBM and electro.

Unfortunately everyone was really tired so I said and hugged goodbye to my American friends.
Stayed til a bit after midnight chatting to [livejournal.com profile] vyvyan, [livejournal.com profile] razornet, [livejournal.com profile] lsur and [livejournal.com profile] owdbetts among others.

Work again tomorrow and Tai Chi in the evening. Hopefully I won't be too knackered to meet up with [livejournal.com profile] susanofstohelit and [livejournal.com profile] mcghiever afterwards for a drink before they set off to Scotland.

I would have enough money to buy this bunker (thanks to [livejournal.com profile] lsur for the tip-off), be able to acquire all planning permissions (big problem: it's Grade II listed) and raise the funds to convert it into a club, gain an entertainment licence and tadaa, new alternative (game) venue in Cambridge.

I can dream, OK? ;o)
