Klan Nocker might rock but not for very long because they'd starve if the Bogganarmi refuse to serve food to obnoxious dimwits who try to use the stove for their useless experiments and blow it up in the progress...
If all else fails, I'm sure our Warlord will come up with a cunning plan.

10:00 am pick up [livejournal.com profile] jasonooc and [livejournal.com profile] kinkykay
Head off on the A14 west, join the M6

Join [livejournal.com profile] andrewdavies and crew at Corley Services (between J3 and 4, just after Coventry) to exchange passengers and stuff and chat.

Then follow these directions. Possibly go in convoy from there.
Lunch somewhere at a nice pub (NOT Little Chef) sounds like a good idea, especially as we are in no hurry.

Arrive in Llangollen eventually and wait for others to arrive, buy mead and things, pick up [livejournal.com profile] wyrmwood and [livejournal.com profile] crocodilewings, choose room, unload and set off again with one or two kind helpers for shopping trip No 1.

Will rope others to do shopping/helping out on Sat and Sun. There are a number of drivers, so we can split the load.

Due to time and budget restrictions, the food will be less sumptuous than in previous years but this means that I'll get more time to play (and do Sam stuff in the kitchen).

Too bad I don't have the resources atm (due to paying full price for the privilege to work, the first time round the bogganarmi got in for half price. At least it's better than last year when we paid for fully catered by the hostel and had to cook ourselves...), or I would make a proper, multi-tiered wedding cake, as Sam is planning. Does anyone know where to get a physrep? ;o)

Bought a portable CD player with car kit today and tested it. Wow, the thing actually produces bass. Excellent.
For those travelling in my car, bring CDs if you want. I can play CDRs but not MP3s.

(updated with better description of machine from hell)
Just went to two petrol stations and then gave up.
Both had this machine attached to a wall with a long hose and a valve at the end you put on the tyre valve, BUT both the gauge AND the buttons to increase/decrease the pressure are ON THE MACHINE ITSELF. The only way to do this on your own is by driving the tyre you want to check directly in front of the machine so you can reach backwards to change the pressure, then move the car so the next tyre is in front etc.

Which dim-minded fuckwit came up with that outrageously stupid idea? If I see them, I give them the hose to stick where the sun doesn't shine and apply full pressure...

In Germany, I'm used to portable pressurized containers you take around your car to each tyre in turn. Very efficient and hasslefree, unless you have to put a lot of air in meaning that you have to "recharge" the container (which takes about 30 seconds).
In this technology-forsaken country I've seen pressure hoses with the gauge and release valve attached in front which works as well but is a bit clunky as sometimes the hose isn't long enough to reach all around the car.

But these things just take the mickey.
