Birthday do went ahead after all,
Had some reasonable food and just fun chatting with colleagues from all over Europe. Thankfully, the work subject was avoided and we talked about holidays, driving, drivers licences and the differences in various countries. Others played table football. Hm, I actually don't know how the Italy vs. Germany match went.
Then, it was 11:25, we got shouted at by a member of staff in an extremely rude way to get up and leave as we were apparently making no effort to move and it simply wouldn't be polite to stay anymore. He didn't say the words but it sounded as if he just said "F**k off". We just stared at him. Somebody said, "Well, you just lost 9 customers", and he said "We don't need you."
This despite the fact that there were still loads of people at the other tables. We left regardless, as we didn't want to be there anymore.
