Everybody is doing it, so I am as well. In no specific order:

10) I was born on the 28th of March, 1970, 11:00 am, an Easter Saturday. In all those 31 years, my birthday has never been on an Easter Saturday again.

9) Most of you know it now but I just mention it. I'm actually German but I've been living in Cambridge, UK since January '96. The reason? I couldn't find a job in Germany so I took the offer that came from here.

8) I have very little bodyhair. I have no hair in my armpits, the hair on my arms and legs is also almost negligible. I couldn't grow a proper beard if I tried. I don't have any eyebrows, either, maybe that's a reason Sam's eyebrows seem to make such an impact.

7) When I was about 8 years old, my hair started to turn grey on top, first just a small bunch but it soon got bigger. No doctor was able to tell what it was and when I was 12, they told me that I could turn completely white by the time I was 20. Fortunately, the process stopped when the grey patch was about 4 inches in diameter. About 5 or so years ago, the grey hair started to fall out. I'm now left with a pretty much circular bald spot on the top of my head with very thick and strong hair all around.

6) More medical weirdnesses: I would have had 6 front teeth. Two more started appearing when I was in my early teens. They had to be removed surgically because they would have come out through the roof of my mouth...

5) I'm a bad learner. I was always bad at subjects where you had to sit down and learn facts or dates by heart. I simply don't have the patience for it. Strangely, languages are a different matter entirely, or at least English. I never had to sit down and learn word lists or grammar rules, I just knew them. The downside to this is that although my usage is correct, I wouldn't be able to quote the rule for it.

4) I'm a lone child. I have no brothers or sisters and neither my mother's sister nor my dad's brother have children. If I don't procreate, my line will die out. The closest relatives in my generation are the grandson of my granddad's sister and the grandsons of my other grandmother's brother.

3) My given first name is Andreas, which only my relatives and work colleagues use.
The nickname came up during school when someone commented on my lively red face "He glows like a 1000W Osram" (a German lightbulb brand). From Osram came Ossi. When the borders opened in '89, people from East Germany had the nickname "Ossis". To avoid confusion, I changed the spelling to Ozzy. So no connection to Black Sabbath here ;o)

2) I'm not religious in any way. According to the religion test, I'm a secular humanist, but I have no idea what that means. Some of my standards and morals can be considered Christian, I guess but I can't relate to someone being nailed to a cross 2000 years ago. Above all, I'm a realist. Although I think it would be cool if such things as ghosts or faeries existed I don't believe in them. I believe in cause and effect and other scientific principles.
In this regard, what I really can't stand are people talking about their religion and trying to persuade others of their faith. IMHO, religion is a very personal thing and is of nobody else's concern but my own.

1) Quite a few people here mentioned phobias. I don't have anything I'm truly afraid of, in a phobia kind of sense. I can quite happily play with a spider or walk along a sheer cliff or watch the doctor puncturing my knee to let out all the blood that had accumulated in there after an accident. That doesn't mean I wouldn't run away if there was a dangerous situtation, I do have a very strong sense of self-preservation ;o)

So, enough about me, I'm going to watch Shrek now ;o)
