1 hour is harsh, especially in an unfamiliar kitchen.

Food-wise, I think I'll like the Nigerians best.

Chocolate fondant? Fool! Everyone who's been watching Masterchef in the last few years knows that that's madness, especially on the first day.

Pitch? What pitch? Food seems to be OK, though. Open your mouth, dammit! He hasn't even thought of a name!

Chewy, eh? Poor show.

I would never buy a house from that woman, let alone food!

I can't watch them trying to open a coconut or a tin! These people have no place in a kitchen! Holy Shit! I'm surprised they are still alive or at least have all their fingers...

Chris might be the only one with the right qualifications (as a chef) but he has no concept of timing. Er, apparently not only that. Moron.

All you needed to do was make a sauce/jus from the pan juices. Not as nice as reduced stock but it would have been a sauce.

Suralan would have fired the whole sorry lot of them! Gods, that was atrocious...

Bah, my worst fears have come true. It's just a farce for entertainment. None of these people would have made it through the first round last time round. Different concept than last time, too. They're not starting out with a restaurant each but need to prove their worth Masterchef style first. Budgetary restraints? Probably.

LOL, the #therestaurant page on twitter is even funnier than last week's #defyinggravity.

Well, I certainly had a giggle.

The safety hazards were hilarious.

There was so much fail in one kitchen.

It certainly reaffirmed my faith in my culinary ability, such that it is.

I agree. To me, it seems to be cruelty television: let's look at these silly people make mistakes. I'm not a fan of that.

Exactly. There was a hint of that in the last series but most of last year's were just a bit misguided or a bit out of their depth rather than utterly incompetent.
Rather disappointed in the BBC.
