is a very odd film, even odder than Park's (Chan-Wook, not Nick ;oÞ) previous films. I still don't know if I liked it or if I should recommend it. It is definitely something you can't really describe and have to see and make up your mind about yourself. It's a lot less violent than his other films but it's also rather all over the place and you don't really know what to think in places.
It's about a priest who after a failed medical experiment becomes a vampire. Things get worse from there as he starts to get involved with a childhood friend's family which soon turns rather ugly indeed. There are some laughs but it's rather WTF all the way through.

Afterwards I went for late dinner at Charlie Chan's. Sadly, my first time there (I know but for some reason I'd never had the opportunity) had high and low points. The food was excellent and while the service was speedy it was also rubbish as I had to remind the waiter that I'd ordered tea and my main was served without a bowl so I had to ask for one. o_O

That was highly entertaining... I read that review assuming that by "Park" you meant Nick Park! Oops!

LOL, no plasticine nor cheese involved in this one. ;)

They should so do a collaboration. That octopus scene in Oldboy would have been a lot more engaging in plasticine.

I'm going to see Dr. Parnassus tomorrow at the VUE (cheaper, bigger screen, easier to get to etc.) so probably won't read you review yet.

*nods* I think Thirst is certainly a film that needs to grow on you. I'm unsure if I had the patience to watch it again.

Ooh, that's a provisional yes. Thank you!

Watched "Thirst" yesterday and while I occasionally felt rather WTF? and thought that it had the slightest moments of dragging on, on the whole I really enjoyed it.
Undoubtedly there will be a US remake with Tom Hanks.

I might not have been in the correct mindset for it, having expected something different.
Nooooooooo! Not a remake. Hopefully, that won't happen, none of Park's other films have been remade, thankfully.
