Bill Bailey was cool. I also had a reasonable second row seat (with very tall ppl in the first row grr but there were enough gaps. Small venue, too (Riverside Studio in Hammersmith) so I was less than 10 metres away from him at times, perfect for seeing his expressions. In 90 minutes he covered as diverse subjects as evolution/creationism, James Blunt and other music things (incl. a scatted Imperial March and getting a random girl from the audience to play with a Tenori-on), flavours of crisps, his recent holiday and the usual tangents. Well worth trundling down to London for.
Also, gigs starting a 7 mean I get to be back at a reasonable time, can relax and watch The Apprentice Final on iplayer.

[livejournal.com profile] ginasketch or [livejournal.com profile] davegodfrey, do you know the barnacle expert at the NHM?

Here's a great tenori-on demo:

That's impressive. I've seen various bits and pieces but I don't think a perfect recreation of an existing track like this one.
I think I really need to have a good look at Little Boots' album. I liked her stuff when she was on Later... a while back (she used a Tenori-on there as well).

Regarding the post above mine, I recommend you watch every Little Boots video on YouTube. I love this woman.

I don't know the barnacle expert but I can probably find out as I work right next to Mollusca.

No need. If you knew him you could have told him that Bill Bailey talked about him (in the nicest possible way). ;o)

Barnacles=Crustaceans. Not molluscs.

I knew that this is what you were going to say before I even opened your comment in email. D'oh! Brain should know this after 3 months of typing in barnacle names in CRUSTACEA registers.
