I wandered around Canary Wharf last Saturday taking architecture photos and randomly came across a branch of wahaca, a small chain of restaurants serving Mexican "street food". You can either choose between several smaller dishes, a bit like tapas or bigger plates for one meal.
It's very tasty, quite spicy and nicely presented, too.

very pretty. I was confused for a while by the spelling: correct in English is Oaxaca (same approximate pronunciation). Plus I thought for a bit that they were referring to huitlacoche.

It's spelt that way so we don't mispronounce it. And the food is very good. The chef won Masterchef a few years back and spent the prize money going round Mexico learning their cooking. Almost all the ingredients are sourced in the UK, it's fresh and delicious. Nom.

Never actually managed it in to the Covent Garden one, didn't know there were more.

There are three in total, IIRC (check the website). I'd been wanting to eat at one for a while and when I randomly walked past it and it was lunchtime, my mind was set. I wasn't disappointed.
I had tortilla chips with guacamole and the two small dishes and didn't have enough room for churros. I need to go back and rectify that. ;)

Hm, fancy meeting up before the Bitter Ruin release party on the 22nd? I'm sure [livejournal.com profile] ginasketch would come along as well (and she could act as expert on mesoamerican food ;).

That's a Saturday, right? In which case I will gladly come along.

Yep. Hurrah! The one in Covent Garden is basically walking distance from the BR venue and if we meet at 5 or so, there shouldn't be any problems finding a table.

This is going to be hard (Sacrilege is the night before where I will both be DJing and shooting, unless I get a ticket for QI which I doubt now).
