[Film] Anvil! The Story of Anvil

I want to see this film when it comes out (UK release date is Friday, have to see which cinema it'll appear in, prolly the Arts)

Woss had it on Film 2009 last night and I was confused because one of the band members' names is Robb Reiner, This is Spinal Tap! was directed by one Rob Reiner and I recently heard/read a rumour that they are planning a Spinal Tap sequel. However, Anvil are a real Canadian Heavy Metal band so it's a real documentary, not a mockumentary.

They interviewed Robb and one of the Anvil members (probably Lipps) on the radio ... it's a real band, very influential, has toured for years and years.

It's also supposed to be a really interesting film.

I'd like to see it sometime but not sure that I won't wait for DVD rental ...

I saw it too, it looks really good. One of many bands out there influencing the big names but never actually making it big themselves. It was really cool to see the wives/girlfriends talking about how they'd been at it for 30 years.
Maybe this year will be their year.
Talking of great acts who never made it big, do you know Danielle Dax? She popped into my head over the weekend, I have her stuff from the early 90's on record but when I went on itunes to see if I could download some, not a sausage! I think she's still making music, she has a MySpace page.

Glad you like her, I heard her through a friend in the early 90s and just once in 15 years on the radio, bbc6 of course.
