*groans* Despite getting home just before 3 I was still so hyped I couldn't sleep for another two hours. I eventually got up at 1 and had breakfast/brunch.

It was a great night and AFAIK the most successful one so far. Going back to a Saturday was certainly a good idea as more people came out, and everybody had made an effort in terms of outfits. There was a good and friendly hype going on and everybody seemed to have a good time. The performances were top notch again, especially impressive were the first two from Anglia Ruskin Uni's Burlesque Society who performed in public for the first time.

It was my first time as DJ in quite a while and I had the first set: Funk Soul Brother.
Blues Brothers Band - Peter Gunn Theme
The Commitments - That's the Way Love is
Wilson Picket - In the Midnight Hour
Otis Redding - Mr. Pitiful
Joan Osborne - What Becomes of the Broken Hearted
Marvin Gaye - I Heard it Through the Grapevine
Chaka Khan - What's Going On
The Supremes - You Can't Hurry Love
The Temptations - My Girl
Sly and the Family Stone - Family Affair
James Brown - Papa's Got a Brand New Bag
Isaac Hayes - Theme from Shaft
Curtis Mayfield - Superfly
James Taylor Quartet - Theme from Starsky & Hutch
Stereo MCs - Step It Up
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Give It Away
Next time I make sure I get my MP3s tagged in time as using [livejournal.com profile] dj_slingshot's new console will be much easier than swapping CDs all the time.

It was. You'd be welcome next time (in June, as we had to scrap the March date), I'm sure we can find somewhere to crash for you. :o)

This could be a plan! Though I may need reminding closer to the time, (but not too close) as work is eating my brain.

Are you on Facebook? Please join the group if you are, I tend to spam people with random notifications :)

Ah no, I'm one of those freaks who refuses to join facebook, for many reasons, one of which is, er... to avoid spam if truth be told. :-)

Do you have a date for it? Once it's in the diary I can plan my way round it, I can't always guarantee to be free of a weekend unless I book months in advance.

Whoops: Saturday 13th of June
Details about acts etc. on the website (http://www.bump-n-grindhouse.co.uk/) as and when available.

Completely understandable regards the spam TBPH, haha :)

The date is for June, it hasn't been officially announced but I think it's fair to say, pencil in the 13th, and check the BnGH website for further details/confirmation [http://www.bump-n-grindhouse.co.uk]. :)

Hope that helps!

The website does have the 13th so I assume that's set.

Was a good night....Odd formula having different music inbetween acts....Then normal one i go to in leeds has all the acts up front and then a 40's/50's disco afterwards.

Isis did great for a first time, she's a friend of old so that was interesting. Miss california was also quite stunning.

I agree the music formula mixed with Burlesque acts is odd but it seems to work.
I don't know, I think having an act on every hour keeps the punters in. It's worked so far so I don't think we're going to change it.

She did, yes. Small world, eh? Dani was great indeed, especially the twirling tassles. I guess being a real dancer helps in that regard.
