30 Jan 2009 12:45 amI just wasted 6 downloads as I hadn't realised that the allowance doesn't refresh at the beginning of the next month but earlier. This isn't very good. It would be a lot better if you could take them over to the next month. *grumble*

Date: 30/1/09 12:55 am (UTC)I know it now and I spotted the refresh date on my account page.
I signed up because they had a lot of stuff that are hard to find in shops (obscure electronica like Klangstabil etc.) and as most of my musical taste tends to be in the indie/small label area, anyway, it seemed a good point.
I just need to remember to have a good look around and look for tracks towards the end of the month.
What I miss is an option to buy tracks above your quota by paying individually, it's a bit rubbish if you have 9 downloads left and the album you'd like has 10 tracks.

Date: 30/1/09 01:00 am (UTC)For me it's great. There is a lot of older stuff, a lot of back catalogue...I picked up the entire Jean Michel Jarre catalogue recently, Skinny Puppy, Imperative Reaction, lots of old dance music. You name it.
I'm Modulate on there if you add me as a friend...you can browse my list of downloads for some ideas. Half the problem with it is that it is, to me at least, very poorly catalogued. They have a limited selection and it's difficult to know what they do have.

Date: 30/1/09 01:28 am (UTC)Have found you. How do you look for people? There has to be a simpler name than replacing the nickname in the URL...

If not, they might be worth checking out. I am quite fond of them :-)
