My D70 doesn't recognise the SB-600 when it's mounted on the camera. The flash works on the D80 so it's got to be the camera. I need to shoot Furby destruction tonight!

What exactly is happening? Is the camera blocking and not taking pictures? You could always try to put sellotape over the extra contacts, leaving only the middle contact. Then the flash should work manually.

The camera works as if there's no flash attached. Usually, if the camera is in aperture or shutter priority and if both are in TTL mode and you switch the flash on, the shutter speed is automatically set to 1/60th. That doesn't happen anymore.

I need to try if the SB-800 works on camera...
