How did they do this?

This morning a van crashed into The Bakers pub on East Road

I'm trying to figure out how this actually happened. If you're on East Road and you wanted to drive into the side of the building, you'd have to do some serious swerving while keeping a lot of momentum after going over the high kerb to do that amount of damage. There isn't much space, either, as it's on the narrow stretch of the road.

Bloody hell, you're absolutely right - it's very difficult to see how the could have got up either the speed or the trajectory. And those Kangoos are small, aren't they? Even more strange!

He must have been going at a hell of a rate. That they haven't just tracked him down from the registration number already, also implies that it was either untaxed or nicked.

That's seriously impressive (damage-wise and wtf-how!?-wise), but I feel sorry for any driver on east road which has been a grinding no-go zone already because of the roadworks on that road before this came along.

...and of course it's just beside the county court, so when it goes to court the judges will be well aware of the location :D

iirc that's where they were doing roadworks so I would have thought they would have had to have come at it from the round-about and then crossed over the lanes, however there is a pedestrian island in the middle that makes that unlikely.
