[Mini Review] Modulate - Detonation

This arrived this morning from MNS and it's been on repeat a few times.
Detonation is a proper full album: 10 tracks, 9 of which not on the previous demo or EP (Skullfuck being the only "old" track) and one a cover of The Prodigy's No Good. No remixes. Nice and varied in style and everything souds good despite my cheap earphones and my cold. On a decent system, they will be bombastic.
So far "Tweekin n Funkin" is my favourite, with "Bass Alert" and "Hard and Dirty" joining the fray.
ION, I'm still rather crappy, coughing and wheezing but at least my head feels like its normal size again, I can breathe and don't explode in a cloud of snot every five minutes.

Date: 30/9/08 03:17 am (UTC)What surprises me is how varied peoples favourite tunes are. On a lot of albums there is usually one that stands out as a 'big tune' but it's been so varied on this. And the Last FM stats are starting to bear that out. http://www.last.fm/music/Modulate
Skullfuck, well, we had to include it really. The EP had sold out in the US and Sistinas were refusing/unable to restock anybody. And the EP was really a single from the album except singles don't really exist in this scene anymore so it became an EP due to the amount of 'other' tracks and remixes on it.
