Merlin

A new series on BBC one "soon" about the young Merlin. The trailer makes it look like Harry Potter and I'm not really impressed. Showy magic isn't what Merlin should be about. Might be good, might be not. It can't be much worse than the TV serial with Sam Neill a few years ago. Let's see.

If you're interested in an alternative take on Merlin, there's a book by Philip Reeve called Here Lies Arthur (just won the Carnegie medal for children's fiction) which is worth reading. It should be easy to find in a library and offers an interesting what if story.
