Blue Spice Nom
26 Aug 2008 10:15 pmIt was
raggedy_man's birthday today so we joined him at the Blue Spice Indian buffet (upstairs at Cambridge Leisure Park). I hadn't been but it came highly recommended by
raggedy_man who knows his Indian. It was good and very reasonably priced, too. There were lovely vegetable things and unusual colourful fritters/crisps and fish bits, different kinds of curry (both meat and veg), poppadoms, chutneys and the lot.
It was a small affair (just
pinkapplejam,
robinbloke,
whiskeylover and I) but nice because it was just a couple of friends having a good time. Barber Shop serenading FTW. ;o)
Afterwards, we hung around the arcade for a bit and
pinkapplejam had just put in a pound in the stacking game, when suddenly some of the power went and there was an announcement for everyone to evacuate the building. Fire alarm. Nothing too major because we neither saw fire nor smelled smoke but all the cinemas were evacuated. Good thing we weren't actually a film because that would have sucked so we just left.
I was already half way down Hills Road, not far from Station Road, when a fire engine came the other way. That was at least 10-15 minutes after the alarm was triggered and Parkside isn't that far away so probably it wasn't urgent.
