A leggy blonde who was easily over a head taller than me (at least when she was wearing heels) so a bit hard to take good pictures of without a stepladder. ;o)
Note: The antlers are cropped like this because the right tip was broken off. I might replace this with a different crop to make it clearer.
Thank you very much! It was great, a lot of space and more models to work with. The first workshop really suffered from the lack of available light which this one had in abundance and which made a HUGE difference. We could have done with a male model or two, though, just to have some contrast. However, we had a good mix of lads' mags and alt models (incl. Fracture, Amaranth and Lilah!) this time which was also cool.
the bottom 2 are my faves. The top one, which I think you posted yesturday aswell, is the only one I have a minor gripe with. the photo itself is beautifully taken, but I think it would look better if you could see all of the antlers. I have the problem of being shorter than most my models, too- it dont half cause complications! but i think, if it was me, I would of taken it in landscape & stood on a chair :) the rest gorgeous, as usual ~X~
I'd agree but (and I should probably make a note of that) you can actually see as much of the antlers as there is (the right tip is broken off and that's where I cropped it). I might replace this with a different crop (with a slight gap on the right) so it's more obvious.
Keep your comments coming, please, constructive criticism is always welcome. I'll reply to the other post tonight because I'm at work. ;oP
ah, that makes sense, then! if you can either see it's cut off...or if the crop is more symetrical, so the tops of both of them is cropped, then it would make it a better photo for me, personally :) i like symetry! i wish i could spell it though...
Heh. Symmetry is certainly a matter of taste and is often frowned upon, unless you get something so symmetrical it simply looks better that way which is *very* hard. I'm a big fan of angles and try to stick to the rule of thirds as much as possible but when I deviate, I rather go the other way than towards symmetry. The angle in the one of Ria on the bed with her hand in front of her is all wrong, her head should be further on the left and her body turned sideways more so you can see more of her body. Unfortunately, I could neither move myself nor the bed at that point as other people in the room would then have been in the way.
If you retouched them, you'd want to remove her ribs from the white tile one. I can't get the thought out of my head that she has agreed to pose in her knickers to earn money to buy food. The pose is too artificial for me, too.
In the chair shots her stomach muscles look good and she doesn't have the starvation thing going even though she's clearly thin.
In the second picture, the whites of her eyes look blue.
I like the ones you did of the woman in the sun in the next post a lot better. Those are beautiful.
I did actually see her eat quite a few sandwiches so she certainly isn't starving.
I have no idea why her eyes look blue! If you look closely, you can see it in the antlers pic and the one on the bed, too. The colour balance is about right, reflections off the makeup?
from the bed pic, it looks like she may be wearing contact lenses, mine do the same thing as they bend light different. A friend of mine who did some pics of me always asked I NOT wear contacts, as you get that funny colour/line/slight bulge around cornea. He said, myopic models with out contacts have the added benefit of less redeye in low light and more dialated pupils which is nice for intimate/lingerie shots.
I like the poses/angles, but I have to agree w/some others that her thinness detracts a bit from the shots themselves. So The Antlers shot is my favorite, it has a really strong story/mood which may have actually been Helped by her being so tall. Sort of Wiccan Goddess feel.
I like the first one best, it has a quirkiness to it and I like the composition. The horns look like antennae! I think it might have been better if none of the skull was visible on the pillar so it looked even more like the horns/antennae were coming out of the model's head! :D
The rest are very nice too, but the first one is the one that draws my eye.
I agree with Caseytalk about the one with the ribs, but there's something about the stark coldness of the tiles and the thinness of the model that seems to work well together. It's a strong image, but it makes me mainly want to tell the young lass to put on some weight!
