I'm going to see the Jackie Chan/Jet Li caper The Forbidden Kingdomtomorrow at the VUE, 18:05. Anyone want to come along? I need some mindless eye candy.
Grin ... you do realise this is the sort of thing I scream about when I'm reviewing people's documentation? :-)
a) a clickable link is always good b) in the time to point out where the answer is, the answer could have been given :-) (e.g. I'll ask someone what the deadline is for a piece of work, and they'll tell me it's in the project plan on the intranet ... and I'll then spend ten minutes trying to find it, where they could have just said "it's in the project plan on the intranet, but it's week 35") c) some people put details in public posts, others in friends-locked posts, others in their profile, and others still put a link in their profile to the friends-locked post! No consistency :-)
Sorry, I've had a really annoying morning of people either not giving me the information I need, or ignoring the question I actually asked and giving me an answer to a different question I already know the answer to ...!)
Is there anywhere near the cinema to park that doesn't cost an arm and a leg?
*laughs* I entirely understand your argument but didn't want to post my number in an open post.
Parking anywhere in the side streets off East Road (New St, Sturton St etc.) as well as down St. Matthews St. (off East Road, opposite the Grafton car park) and Norfolk St. (continues on from St. M and comes out at the pedestrian lights opposite Blockbuster) is free in the evening. I always find a spot that early in the evening. It's one of the reasons I prefer the VUE over the Cineworld, there's always free parking nearby and it's closer to work/home, too.
... of course, that did occur to me, but then I didn't check to see if this was open and the one at the top of your messages was friends-locked, d'oh! Makes perfect sense ...
"free in the evening" - is that from 17:45 or from 18:30? London is 18:30 for most places, so I usually find a meter and pay for 30-45mins at 17:45-18:00 and then leave it there for the rest of the evening (some places have 8pm meters though, so that's something to beware of!)
I've not been to the Cineworld (it appears to be down beyond where you turn off for the station) ... every other Cineworld I've been too has their own (free) carpark, I assume Cambridge is different :-(
IIRC, it's free from 6, at least I never got a ticket after 6.
The Cineworld is in the "Cambridge Leisure" complex off Hills Road (go past Station Road, first left after the bridge and left again) and shares its multi storey car park. I think there's a flat fee all evening/night from 6 but it's still £3 or so. There's some free parking further down where the industrial units are but you need to be careful as some of them can have you clamped (or so they claim on signs).
I'm also with you regarding people ignoring questions. Today, I had a query regarding an inconsistent name and the answer to our question "Which version is correct, A or B?" was "Yes."...
No worries ... I'm 80% likely to be there, so if you don't see me by 6pm, assume I'm not coming (or if someone else will let you use their mobile, use the number I posted already!)
The only reason that I'm saying 80% is that I have a ton of work to finish today as I'm at a friend's funeral tomorrow and need to get this work in so it can be reviewed during the day I'm away and I can have the comments back Thursday.
*very* tempted ...
