Needful Things
28 Jul 2002 11:26 pmOne of the best adaptations of a Stephen King novel, hard to find as they are. The best is still Stand by Me, IMHO (based on "The Body" from Different Seasons)
Max von Sydow as the proprietor is magnificent, the other actors are good as well.
One question to other King fans out there:
Is it an incarnation of Flagg or not?
King usually doesn't do the classic Omen-/Exorcist-esque devil thing and it would fit his favourite adversary nicely. Almost too subtle but still fitting, Flagg never gets his own hands dirty, either.

Date: 29/7/02 05:32 am (UTC)Dreamcatcher as a film? Hm, a bit tricky. If you want to get everything across, it'll be a 18 certificate splatter movie in parts. The other parts is just X-File-esque government conspiracy and some wonderful characters.
Duddits will be one hell of a role to get right...
Something curious, the website has a release date of September for From a Buick 8 but it's out in the Netherlands already, I saw it at Amsterdam airport and thought, Huh? Haven't heard of that one...
I better get going and finish Black House and Everything's Eventual, then.
Argh, too much to read!
