They look really good, the colours and contrasts are great. My only criticism (as a complete non-photographer) is that the field of focus on some of them is a little too short. The dice for instance, would be awesome excpet only thone half of the number is in focus in each picture, the 19 for instance would be great if the whole number was sharp.

Thanks!

Well, with a macro lens, you do get a depth of field of about 5mm, even at higher f numbers, so the limited focus is a feature, not a bug. ;o)
Due to this limitation, it's really difficult to take photos of moving things (crawling insects, flowers in a breeze etc).

Which shows my lack of experience in photography! In the knowledge that the field is impossible to enlarge, the pictures are fantastic!

I attempted a few macro shots with my LG but the point of focus is too far away - you can't get a sharp image closer than about 5cm.

*nods* Unless your camera has a macro mode, it won't do much good for closeups. There are a number of compacts that do reasonable macros, though.
You need a specific lens arrangement for macro ([livejournal.com profile] davefish can probably explain this) so you can go really close to the subject. For example, my 85mm lens (that's only 5mm "shorter" than the macro lens I took the above photos with) has a minimum focus distance of about 90cm.
