I sometimes can't decipher my own shopping lists or handwritten holiday diaries before I get to type them up.

I actually made a bit of an effort when I wrote this. I can read it clearly. Most of the letters are there.
There might be some cultural differences, though. I've sort of adopted the British style capital I but the rest is my own.
Another problem is that my handwriting is really small and cramped.

I had that problem at college - I often couldn't read my own notes on lectures and things. So I had to abandon joined-up writing and switch to printing in big easily decipherable capitals instead.

While I was still forced to write regularly it wasn't quite as bad or I would never have made it through school and my degree. ;o)

Ah, your joined-up handwriting is quite like mine. Lots of letters are just little squiggles and dashes. Almost like shorthand!

Still, I can read it all, so it can't be that bad! :)
