Picture This is a bit like Masterchef for amateur photographers. Six (in the first episode) togs receive various assignments (portraits of another photographer, a celeb portrait of Germaine Greer at a pro studio using pro equipment and "Holidaying in Britain" of random strangers on a stormy and wet Brighton beach), then are judged and two are eliminated at the end by three industry professionals who were very harsh indeed. I don't think I'd have had a chance there but it's quite interesting viewing.
The new Flash Gordon TV series is going to start on SciFi in March. Now, if even the trailer doesn't really look interesting, I don't think I will bother. I saw a chunk of an episode when I was in the US in October and really wasn't impressed, either. The film at least lived off a superb Ming, Ornella Muti (mmmmm), BRIAN BLESSED and a superb soundtrack but this? I don't know.
