Sam and Max Season Two
14 Nov 2007 12:52 pmSo instead of going to bed at a reasonable time, I installed, started and finished the first episode of Season Two that had just come out. I found it really easy for a change and if I was stuck, the new hint system (Max will make random comments that help you along) provided some insight into what to do next.
In keeping with the season, the episode starts with Santa Claus going crazy and our intrepid heros needing to not only safe the world but also Christmas. There are a few neat little gags, new characters (incl. a permanent location in SnM's street, Stinky's Diner, and thankfully, the Soda Poppers only have a little part) and two minigames (a driving one and a boxing one which is slightly buggy but there's a workaround on the hint forum). The puzzles are mostly logical (with only one rather tenuous link) that can be solved as long as you examine and pick up everything you can and talk to everyone about everything.
There's also a new hint system that works by Max coming up with random more or less helpful comments. How early and often this happens can be set in the options (or switched off completely).
