Remember my post from Friday last week? There was just a rather annoying beep on QI while there's quite a lot of fuck(ing)s on The Life and Times of Vivien Lyle last night an hour earlier. Bah to inconsistencies.
This is true, it isn't a standard use. However I do like to replace the one with the other, as I think it makes for more variation. It's particularly satisfying to say C**ting Fuck instead of Fucking C**t.
BBC have left it up to the editors to see whether or not it is relevant.. there was a John lennon interview on the bbc radio (non watersheded) and they got alot of compaints regarding swearing at 11am or something similar, but it was kept in to show the strength of feeling and to give an idea of the person etc...
I think the idea is if it would be out of context for the show it would be beeped, if they thought it was part of the show idea, then it gets through.
