Back home again
24 Jun 2002 06:35 pmWhat a wonderful and exhausting weekend (the Changeling National, of course).
I'm home, I'm whole (I think) but I hurt, at least my feet.
I think I'm getting into
davywavy mode here, I said last year, never again will I cook a weekend long for more than 5 people (52 last year, 30odd this), I did it this year and I'll probably do it next year if I'm still around, I get enough notice and will be asked nicely and bribed with other things than P*******.
It's utterly tiring, running around like a headless chicken and directing the rest of the Bogganarmi, but the words of thanks and appreciation from everybody (with a handful of exceptions) make up for it and are worth far more than any bloody National P*****ge I get for it.
More later, I need to lie down and put my feed up, just a big THANK YOU to everybody who helped run the event, on the game and organisation side.

Date: 24/6/02 11:08 am (UTC)No worries
Date: 24/6/02 11:55 am (UTC)And the gravy was only half my doing. The cooking juices from the beef, water and the mighty powers of Bisto ;o)
Also, the turkey was seasoned, or rather smothered with pepper ;o) - sorry
Thankyou!
Date: 25/6/02 05:56 am (UTC)Anyway, you are a mad, mad fool, but a great and glorious one. And even if you-Sam aren't Chef of Albion anymore, you-Ozzy have the title in perpetuity :)
Re: Thankyou!
Date: 25/6/02 07:46 am (UTC)I can only repeat what I said earlier, I couldn't have done it without help.
Edd and Doug are equally responsible.
I only did what any decent head chef does, delegate the hard work, do the seasoning and make sure everything runs smoothly ;o)
And no, it wasn't you I had in mind, either.
