Mission accomplished
31 May 2002 06:50 amLaptop is slowly taking shape.
Had a bit of a shock when I tried to install the driver for my SmartMedia reader, the main reason I bought the desktop, to be able to dl photos when not at home. "This software cannot be installed on this operating system". Checked the sandisk website and found out it isn't supported under XP but found a suggested workaround. That worked. Phew.
Next is to copy some settings files and favourites and the like and then try to network it with my PC. Hm, need a cable (phone type plugs), maybe I can borrow one from work.
Last busy day at work tomorrow, then I'm free for 4 days!!

Date: 31/5/02 01:29 am (UTC)The network settings stuff isn't that hard really; stick NetBUI, TCP/IP on both machines, make sure the network workgroup for both of them is the same and then you *should* be OK.
