Last night was pretty good.
First some cool news from
autumn_storm and
twentypence (I'll leave them to tell you about it) and it was
squad_bzn looking for more things to shoot which we found in the form of a few squishy gangers and less squishy doggy bots.
rirekon should now finally have realised that even as a Stormer, you need decent armour, or will be obliterated time and time again. I wouldn't be surprised if Arther started charging you Flux tax. ;oÞ
Our previous efforts in the week (and Lenscap's footage) made it into a 40 second!! segment on Third Eye News. Read it
Now, let's hope this Blue will be over soon and we get a job that's a bit more interesting to those who don't just want to pop their caps (or other instruments of mass destruction) into squishy flesh.

Date: 16/2/07 02:09 pm (UTC)As for armor - everyones starts with pants armor but it dosen't stay that way for ever. Sponsorship, cutting finance deals, or going to a second hand armour sales man can all help get you the goodies :-)

Date: 16/2/07 02:58 pm (UTC)He's the financier, even if Delf has to then ask me, it's his role in the group, so you should rely on him to do it. Sure, ask him stuff and give him ideas, but he should be sorting out the details for you.
If you play a finacier in the future, then you'll need to learn it.
Whilst the game doesn't have strict character classes, it is built around the different roles in the squad theme, so use the rest of the squad to help you do your job better. :o)

Date: 16/2/07 02:41 pm (UTC)Also just not understanding some of the stats, like Tactics for instance, and how/when I should use them. Guess I just need to read the book more thoroughly.

Date: 16/2/07 02:49 pm (UTC)The thing with SLA is that there are a lot of skills, and there's a big variety in the way games are run that affect which skills are used. Personally I think my games favour Detect more than many others would, so that's a good skill to have when I'm running, but maybe not with others, as such it's not going to be something you can find in the book.
The important thing to remember is that there's too many skills for me to expect you to have exactly the right one in a given situation, but there are several similar ones, so it's kind of up to the players to point out what you've got on the sheet that might be appropriate. Even if you've got something which is kind of similar, but not really, then you can still use it at 1/3 the normal level.
But feel free to sit down with me at any point and go through stuff you're not sure on.
