My thoughts go out to any of you who might be stuck wherever you are or even on the roads because of the weather. Take care, be safe.

I better start cooking now, just in case the power goes out, you never know.

Well, Ulrike's stuck in London, as all the trains have been cancelled (well, they say 'suspended', but that's a euphemism).

However, it looks as though she managed to get a bus at 10, so hopefully she'll get back here tonight.

I'm curious to see whether the trains will be running to Peterborough tomorrow, as I will otherwise have to take a taxi...

[livejournal.com profile] atreic is spending another night in London. I managed to cycle to the cathedral, and then join the bell-ringers for some b33r :)

"Don't walk on the sheltered side of brick walls because even brick walls can be damaged in these winds." (weather commentator on BBC1 just now)

What sort of a gale are they expecting?

THAT ONE. :)

Heh. I think I should have asked "Are British walls really that flimsy?" to which the answer would have been yes...

I'm sure a few German engineered walls went down too in that wind. :)

No reports of collapsing walls but the usual mayhem (roof tiles being blown off, trees uprooted, lorries blown over etc., oh, and a steel beam ripped of the brand new central station in Berlin)

Diving in on a random entry, ages ago you posted results from a shoot that you did in some secluded garden in London. Would it be overly rude of me to ask you about where that was, as a potential location for a shoot I'll be doing on Friday?

Thanks, and I'll understand if you'd rather not.

It's hardly a secret. :o)
The garden is in Vauxhall, roughly here (http://streetmap.co.uk/streetmap.dll?G2M?X=530693&Y=177874&A=Y&Z=1). If you walk along the right hand side of Harleyford Rd (as you come from Vauxhall station, towards the Oval), there's a rather high wall which will have an entryway. It's easily missed as it doesn't look like much and not very public (but IIRC, there are opening times on the gate).
The other garden is in Bonnington Square. The quickest way to there is walking from other garden. On the right hand side as you walk in is a row of houses with a doorway. Walk through that, along the street you come out on for a bit and than it's on the left (basically the center of Bonnington Square, you can see it on the map). You can actually see it on the satellite view of Google maps (http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=Bonnington+Square,+London&sll=53.098145,-2.443696&sspn=12.391091,29.882813&ie=UTF8&z=19&ll=51.484406,-0.120179&spn=0.000783,0.002704&t=k&om=1), pretty much where the arrow is.

Who's the shoot with?
