Hatching
One of my luckiest moments. Too bad I couldn't stay and watch it hatch.

Love the penguins, especially the egg hatching. It's a lot easier to get that sort of photo with snakes!

I would imagine that finding a wild cornsnake's nest and then filming it being a bit of a challenge, too. ;o)

Not really - there's plenty of people live within yards of their habitats, since they're N. American temperate snakes, whereas the population living in easy reach of wild penguins is presumably somewhat limited. And of course I cheat by using captive snakes.

Very much my reaction at the time. I'm still surprised I actually managed to capture some of it...

It was indeed. I kept thinking it wasn't real and expected to wake up in my boring Cambridge flattete the next morning but there was always something even more exciting coming along.

More previews to come tomorrow and then it's back to the original files to actually process them properly.

Happy New Year to you, too. *hugs*

The underfloor lighting. Many chav cars have those neon tubes on the underside that make a glowing sort of shadow on the ground and that's exactly what those icebergs looked like. ;o)
