Weak lights but all from the front so better than it could have been. I still had to go up to ISO1600 several times so some will be quite noisy. More to come after I'm done with Dragonmeet. My short review of the gig is here and

Sol Invictus

One of the few decent shots I got of her because she was standing with her back to me most of the time...

Date: 4/12/06 11:02 am (UTC)What settings on your camera did you use? Whenever I take photos of people moving at night they are either lit but blurry or too dark (or trying to kill me after my Uber-flash blinds everyone in the building).
Cheers.

Date: 4/12/06 11:22 am (UTC)You will get motion blur at anything shorter than 1/60th so the trick is to time it so the subject doesn't move or has just stopped or just put the camera on continuous and rattle off six shots in succession in the hope that one will be OK.
If the camera is heavy, it's easier to hold it steady, too so all you need to worry about is the subject.

Date: 4/12/06 08:45 pm (UTC)As Tony W was standing so far back, he was blocked by the violinist most of the time and blocking Andrew King at the same time, which was a bit annoying.

Date: 4/12/06 09:50 pm (UTC)I particularly like the close-up on the drum.
(The black and white drummer is also a good picture, but does look rather Nürnberg ;-)
Thanks!
Date: 4/12/06 10:23 pm (UTC)Yeah, that's the danger with Neofolk. I had to desaturate it, though because the original had been all red so everything got lost...

Date: 6/12/06 12:54 pm (UTC)These are great pictures. And you did well to get such clear shots when the venue was so packed.

Date: 6/12/06 01:08 pm (UTC)Thank you! I was in the front row, on the right (basically facing you) so I had a clear view.
