Cinema tonight
25 Apr 2002 01:28 pmOn the spur of the moment, I decided to go to the cinema tonight when I was at the Grafton Centre. Blade 2 is on too early and late, so I'm going for Queen of the Damned at 7:10. Anyone who would like to join me is more than welcome, I'll be at the drinks/snacks counter from about 6:45 or so.
If it's as good an adaptation as Interview, it should be good. Question is only why they didn't do The Vampire Lestat first, the second in the Vampire Chronicles.

Lestat seems to have transformed into Brandon Lee from the Crow, which is, I think, not a patch on Tom Cruise's performance, and loses a lot of character depth.
Definitely a film for goths to go see though. It's very into glorifying that particular subculture.
Not Brandon Lee
Date: 26/4/02 06:44 am (UTC)Brandon Lee was cool but is sadly very dead.
I don't think they could have found a worse actor for Lestat, except Keanu Reeves, maybe.
Re: Not Brandon Lee
Date: 26/4/02 10:37 am (UTC)Brandon Lee from the Crow was just who he reminded me of in looks. I think because the film makers were consciously going for that look. Haven't seen the Crow II and don't intend to.
Julian Clary as Lestat would have been worse.
