FWIW, I found it violent and depressing, but not particularly good. YMMV :)

IMO, it's just a(nother) Scorsese movie, actually. Matt Damon & Leonardo Di Caprio are surprisingly good but overall the film's really more of an if-there's-nothing-else-on-and-a-few-mates-are-round-with-beer effort.
