No, thank you for spreading the word!

My mind is warped by years of pervery... I see the initials TG and I think Torture Garden rather than Top Gear! Oops!

You can't claim 'sweet and innocent' and then use THAT icon! :o)

Nutella is sweet, isn't it? I've been eating it since I was two or three, so perfectly innocent, too.

Worryingly, that's what I thought as well! I thought 'oh no, they're not closing another alternative-type London place?' :)

Is there one to get those pompous gits off the TV instead?

From: [identity profile] briggsy.livejournal.com
Yeah, it's called a 'button' and they exist on both the TV and the remote control and allow you to not watch programs that you personally don't like.

Does that stop them getting licence money too?

Yes, if enough people follow your lead.

Some of my license money goes towards making trash (IMO) like Eastenders and the majority of TV programmes that I do not watch. Yet there are millions of people who watch them, but who might hate wildlife programmes, comedy shows or even Top Gear. It all evens out in the end. If you find most TV programmes unwatchable, then there's always the option of not having a TV, which will save you £11 a month and certainly stop a couple of pennies of your money going to Clarkson and Co.

But I want to stop your pennies going to them too. Maybe I should start a petition.

Regardless of the programme, I'd rather the BBC were spending their money on programming rather than the millions they've just wasted on their new logos. I'd rather Richard Hammond got a few of my pennies than the adertising executives they flew to the Maldives (or wherever it was) to film their new channel idents.

I don't like, say, Alan Titchmarsh and Co. and their gardening bollocks but there are enough people who do and therefore warrant the programmes being on.

As long as TV isn't pure on demand or tailored to individual tastes automatically, there will always be something on you don't like.

Is there one where JC is taken off the billing?
Apart from the fact that I don't watch TV, thus don't give them license money he was the thing that I really didn't like about that show. The other two were great, and Hammond seemed like the sort of chap everyone would love to have a drink with.
