This is getting out of hand. What's next? Catholics demanding the shape of donuts be changed because they look like halos?

Sure -- I just sometimes get annoyed by the way that such news is often put across as "Muslims say / want / do various unreasonable things" when this generally applies only to small numbers of extremists. Westerners' understanding of Islam is generally shaky enough, without being encouraged to think that all Muslims are nutty fundamentalists. Heaven knows there are plenty of Christians with loopy views as well.

Also, most people who read this LJ know that I don't generalise, otherwise I would have tagged this post with "muslims" rather than "religious nutters", just as I've written about fundamentalist Christians as well.
I don't feel I have to put disclaimers on anything I write.

Every religion has its "nutters". And has it's very sane people too.

Anyone that thinks that "all of any religion" are nuts, well it does not matter how he puts it, they will think that way anyhow :)
