[Films] [Photos] A Scanner Darkly and RAF Tuddenham

Yesterday evening, I met up with belaroo and tobykenobi to see A Scanner Darkly at the Arts. My brain is still hurting, but more from the visual effects of the chamaeleon suits than the content.
As Dick adaptions go, this one is probably closest to the source as it's very trippy and a bit incoherent, too so not necessarily something to watch on sleep dep.
Curiously, I didn't mind Keanu Reeves' shoddy acting because he played someone who was not quite with it and didn't know (or care) what he was doing, i.e. just like Reeves' characters usually come across although they shouldn't.
Definitely one to watch.

Because my brain was still too confused too go to sleep, I worked on some more photos, this time on the ones I had taken of the RAF Tuddenham site where the airsoft event was held:

I think the movie looks intersting. Well more at least the way it looks than anything else, I've nver read the book so I don't know the story eihter.

The basic concept is an undercover narc cop investigating his own house to find a lead to the main supplier of Substance D, the drug most people are addicted to, but it's a lot more complicated than that.

Thanks! I wanted to do something else than people for a change and I really like old and abandoned places so this was ideal. :o)

The paranoid junkies (especially Paris) offer a welcome comic relief, too.

I'm usually rather careful, too but as the site is being constantly used by the airsoft people, I felt reasonably safe. I didn't go near that half collapsed roof or further into the "boiler room", though.

I'd love to explore inside that house I mentioned but despite it being abandoned, it would still be considered trespassing (or maybe even breaking and entering) so I'm not going to. Besides, it might not be entirely safe, either.

When I saw the pics there, I wondered what urban_explorers was doing on my "journals only" view! ;) I like them - I've always had a thing about abandoned buildings.

Have to say the one thing putting me off seeing that film is Keanu Reeves but I might give it a go.

I'm finally going to take pics of a wonderful abandoned house in Cambridge next week. I drive past it every day on my way to work but I've never found the time (or remembered) to take photos. Apparently, it's up for being demolished soon to be replaced by yet another block of flats so I better hurry...

That was my thought, too but he's really not that bad.
