Back from Infest - still not dead

Wow, what a weekend. Detailed writeup with band-by-band reviews and photos coming tomorrow, so just a few points
- saw/heard great music
- met great people
- had wonderful food and a hell of a good time

Bands seen: All of them except Schmoof and only one track of Frozen Plasma because they were boring synthpop

Best Bands: Rotersand, Frontline Assembly, Stromkern, Unter Null

Worst Bands: Lab4, Autoclav v1.1

Positive surprise of the Festival: Stromkern

A shame Autoclav was poor. When I saw him at Dark City '05 he was quite good. Want to see Unter Null some time :-)

I wanted to like it but it didn't really work for me. The ambient stuff was good but the rest was too samey for me. It could well be that the sound system wasn't quite up to it (as for most of the powernoise, unfortunately). Also, watching just one man with a laptop isn't really exciting.
My opinion that he's a bit of prick probably didn't help.

Sromkern supported FLA tonight? Superb!

At DC it was pure powernoize and yeah it wasn't much to watch but he didn't appear to have an ego. Oh well, how things change with fame :-/

If you ever get the chance to see Unter Null, do, she's superb. Watch this space for the full review tomorrow.
