I seem to have bought a new compact (it really is compact) digicam because my old one has a broken display and is a bit naff these days.
I'll take it out for a spin during lunch and will upload some test pics tonight. The scary thing is, it has the same MP resolution as my SLR...
Should prove handy for gigs and clubs. :o)
I only need a no-name soft case and a bigger xD card.
I also seem to have received the first season of Venture Bros. on DVD and I don't even need retail therapy...

Date: 11/8/06 10:59 am (UTC)dpreview.com has a rather comprehensive review (http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/sonydslra100/page30.asp) (link to the conclusion page, choose the sections from the dropdown list).
If you have lenses that fit from a previous analogue system, and the drawbacks mentioned in the review are irrelevant for your purposes, it sounds like a very good deal indeed. The tech specs are more than adequate for the average amateur or even prosumer photographer, and for that the price is awesome.

Full review after Infest. :o)
