As the decision has been made to not try and flog a dead horseresurrect Club Octaine again, we will give you the opportunity to say good-bye properly.

We (hopefully all three wise monkeys) will be at WUS this Tuesday and probably also at The Avery beforehand so we can cry into our drinks and, more importantly, reminisce about the crazy experiment that should never have survived as long as it did.

How did it last that long? Well, it was all thanks to the Easter one in 2004 which made us enough profit to keep us going for another year. We never had any more people than the average (probably 30-40, max) after that so we never made another profit.

Why did it ultimately fail?
Because people are generally only interested in one genre of music on one evening and can't deal with change.
We had a handful of die-hard fans who loved what we were doing but there weren't enough of them, sadly.

So, thanks to all of you who did believe in us and we hope you enjoyed it. Come along and say goodbye tomorrow, we'd love to see you.

Cheers

DJ Ozzy

I've never been able to go to one of the Octaine nights, but I still feel it is the ending of an era.

meh. that's sad. I only made it to one, but I absolutely loved it.

Thanks (all of you) for making it happen, even if it couldn't last.

Thank you and you're welcome!

Are you coming along tomorrow? I'll remind you at work. ;o)

Aww :-(

Octaine was fun and it's a shame to see it finally laid to rest, but I guess if people aren't interested enough in cross-genre evenings to coma along then what can you do?

Kudos to the crew for keeping it going as long as you guys did. If nothing else you can pop it on the CV: organised, ran and DJed at club nights :-)

Thank you.
It's been a good experience although playing fab music to almost empty dancefloors has been frustrating, too.
With the exception of the Easter one where I couldn't get the trendies off the dancefloor with Power Noise, not even with the likes of "I Set my Dog on Fire" by P.A.L... ;o)

I''m sorry to hear that!

But I hope the last one will kick ass!

Thanks!

I'm afraid there won't be a last one. We don't have enough money left to hire the venue a final time so what we will do is put the money behind the bar and for the first time ever, actually drink our profit. :o)
