The Sony A-100
A DSLR with 10.2MP (same - and allegedly improved - sensor as the Nikon D200) and a range of lenses (Minolta/Konica mount), incl. three Zeiss ones.
Three very good points:
- internal image stabilisation (i.e. not in the lens)
- the dust reduction gimmick (an ablative coating on the sensor and a vibrating thingy)
- the price: $900 for body only (that's almost half the price of a D200)
Cons:
- plastic body (a camera of this caliber should be a little sturdier)
- some fiddly bits/controls
If the camera holds what the preview suggests (and the image quality is really that good), this could be one hell of a nice piece of kit for any current Minolta/Konica users or those wanting to jump from compact into SLR photography.
No reason for me to give up on Nikon but wow...
