Xmas is not a happy season
13 Dec 2001 01:03 pmJust don't believe the hype.
The weather is dreadful (at least here, at home there's an inch of snow), one of my grannies is in hospital after a mild stroke, two friends I've known for over three years just split up, the Nikki might be about to lose her job (she couldn't come into work for half a day because she had to care for her son, and despite being a single mother with no one to help out, they still want to sack her. That sucks so much.), we're working reduced hours at work (taking obligatory days off unpaid) because business is slow, and a lot of people are just depressed and go blah, meep and bleh a lot.
Despite this, I'm looking forward to going home for Xmas, meet family and people I only get to see twice a year and have some fun on New Year's Eve drinking with old friends from my Uni years (none of them ex students, funnily enough, but my former RP group). I'll probably have to join a gym when I get back as I won't be able to fit into my trousers. Damn my mother and her excellent cooking ;o)
Still, other things to look forward to, a silly video evening at Christi's tomorrow, a tour of Cambridge and the promised coffee with
susanofstohelit on Saturday afternoon before she buggers off to the US again and the Cambridge Changeling game Sat evening.
