posted again, so people know. Funny really, how iconic he was. I liked him second best in the series, after Bones.

Many people see Scotty as comic relief but he was actually quite a deep character with a very distinct personality.

very. Kirk was the comic action hero, and often just the first of the three.

I also loved the fact that he 'came back' in one of the ST:NG episodes and (with others) in the first NG movie!

Which, as all hard-core Trek nerds know, was never actually said!

They've corrected it in the new article about his ashes, though:

"Although Doohan became synonymous with the line "Beam me up, Scotty", it was never actually said in the series."
