Good gig, about 100 minutes, sound was a bit mushy but OK.
Website said doors at 7 so I got there a quarter to, picked up a sub and wandered over to the Junction to find the doors closed. Looked around a bit and saw
lnr,
j4 and
sion_a so I joined them and we waited in the cold. Then they said doors open at 7:30 and they finally did open at about 7:45. I hadn't been to the Junction since the refurbishment and it looks quite good and solid but the main room looked smaller than I remembered.
Where was before I got distracted? Ah yes.
They finally came on at 9 and off they went with Hello ... I'm Johnny Cash. Some people around me looked at me because I knew the words and sang along. Hey, the new album came out today, every decent fan should have it and I'm not even a big one or have known them for long.
They played a good section of tracks from various albums, not too many from the new one, though (as far as I could tell, only Johnny Cash stuck in my mind) with the most being from Exile. I was actually surprised that they played Woke up this Morning very early on as I consider it one of their best tracks.
The audience took quite a while to get going and only a few were dancing but I found this is quite normal in the UK. How anyone can stand still while a superb band lays down a groove like that is beyond me...
Anyway, apart from the slightly mushy sound that made vocals hard to understand and some of the low frequencies hurt, it was very good value for a tenner and an evening well spent.

Haven't been to shop for new album, was going to get a copy tomorrow but it looks like I won't be seeing them due to uni work commitments.

I hadn't seen them before so I can't compare but they definitely know their stuff and manage to bring it across live.
