ICC booking madness
30 Aug 2001 12:38 pmI was very annoyed at myself last night when I realised I had made a mistake booking my flight to ICC (out on the 17th instead of the 18th) and I would have to pay a large fee to reschedule but then I thought that isn't too bad, arriving a day early, so I can relax after arrival, sleep off the jetlag and do some sightseeing (definitely want to see Hollywood Boulevard) and maybe some shopping (CDs, mostly). The extra night will be horribly expensive because it won't be covered by the ICC group rate but I don't mind, I can afford it at the moment, and when will I have the opportunity to go to LA again? Mmm, a King size bed all to myself ;o)
The flight is reasonably (for that kind of journey) priced, though, at 351.40 incl. taxes, considering a colleague of mine paid 280 to Sicily...
I'm really looking forward to this, meeting all those people I've heard so much about and some of those I meet on IRC every night, and of course RP'ing my socks off. I wonder what the Princes Symposium will be like, if it's gonna be as stupid as the last UK one... ;o)
Oh, btw, anyone at ICC up for a little sightseeing trip to Hollywood Blvd? Most likely Thur late morning, after I'm done registering etc.
Now I sit here at work, with nothing to do as our file server is down again. This morning, while the server was working I had nothing to do, no I could do a bit of work, and the file server is down.
At least I've got a book with me which I might go through a little more quickly this way (The Dark Remains by Mark Anthony, 3rd book in The Last Rune series). It's a Fantasy/Real World crossover that works quite well (see http://www.thelastrune.com for some impressions).
