15 Feb 2005 05:28 pmAs I'll be far too busy taking in the sights and sounds and don't have any travelling characters, anyway, I'll only be around on the Saturday (definitely at Succubus Club) and the Sunday. Because of poor planning, I'm not at the con hotel but at the La Quinta instead (not too far on Williams Blvd).
However, if you are in town and want to meet up for a tour, restaurant or music club crawl, give me a shout.
I'll be at the St. Charles Guesthouse from Tuesday night (probably about 9pm ish). Good thing I will only have travelled from Boston so shouldn't be too jet-lagged and well up for a meal or drink after I've claimed my room.
I don't have any concrete plans but I'm aiming to do the more touristy areas (especially French Quarter) during the week to avoid getting trampled and have good views for taking photos. I'm probably going to take all the streetcar lines all the way at least once and then to get from A to B (most of them are 24 hour and cheap, too - $12 for a three-day pass).
I'm going to take it easy and don't try and cram as much as I can into it but rather take the sights as they come. The plan is to do sightseeing during the day and eating/finding Blues/Jazz/Zydeco clubs in the evening.
Apparently, most of it is late night/early morning, anyway so there's no rush.
So I'm hoping for good, not too hot weather (for me, that's below 25C) and no rain.
Gods, I'm so looking forward to this. I'm sure this is going to be a really cool holiday, considering I will have had three days in Boston beforehand...
